Charles and Sharon Burton, founders of the Overcomers Recovery Support Program and authors of the recovery workbook A Daily Choice, Overcoming Life-controlling Problems, illustrate God’s principles of restoration through their personal victories over alcoholism, abuse, bitterness and a broken marriage. Charles earned his Master’s Degree in Addictive Disease Counseling and served as executive director of a 150-bed drug treatment center for convicted felons in south Florida, before relocating to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1997. An ordained minister, he is a sensitive, discerning counselor and skilled teacher. Sharon, a gifted motivational speaker, singer and administrator, serves as the president of Overcomers, Inc. She teaches recovery principles with her own twist of humor and openness, and her exceptional talent as a soloist inspires people to rise from defeat to victory!

Their transparent, direct teaching approach and ability to explain the simplicity of God’s healing principles come through their own 28 years of sobriety and recovery from painful emotional wounds.
